At Sweeny Christian School we take pride in providing the highest quality classes, even for our youngest students. Our trained teachers not only teach the academics of numbers, colors, letters, and letter sounds through hands-on learning, but also teach stories from the Bible, memory verses, Sunday school songs, how to share and be a friend, and much more all within a loving, Christian environment.
Sweeny Christian School uses ABEKA Preschool Curriculum from our 2's through our Pre-K 4's. It is an age appropriate curriculum for preschool that takes into consideration the differences in motor skills and cognitive abilities among preschoolers. It turns play time into hands-on learning time, laying a strong academic foundation that prepares each child for the next level of their educational journey. With Abeka, they’ll experience early success at realistic learning milestones and since the entire program has been developed from a Christian worldview, we are planting seeds of faith in our students all through the year. The curriculum is enriched by themed units of study and guest speakers.
Preschool 2's
Preschool learning for two-year-olds goes beyond playtime. With Abeka, children are introduced to foundational academic concepts with the help of Amber Lamb and Button Bear.
Pre-K 3's
As our student's preschool learning grows through exposure to phonics, numbers, art, poetry, and the Bible, our three-year-olds become students naturally and gain a strong foundation for kindergarten.
Pre-K 4's
The Abeka preschool program for K4 serves as a bridge between a preschool experience and kindergarten. By the end of the K4 year, our students are prepared to excel once they move to Kindergarten by building such a strong foundation.
Our students participate in Bible daily through prayer, Scripture memorization, and Bible instruction, taught by their teacher. On Wednesdays, students attend Chapel service to praise and worship God, which is lead by C of C Preacher, Ken Hysten. Students also participate in mission projects such as Operation Christmas Child and Arms of Hope Donation Drives, as well as local acts of service for members in our own community. The Bible curriculum aims to reach learners of every learning style. Students make their way through the lessons and stories of the Old and New Testament.
